THE DROP

THREE ENTRY DROPS · THEN THE SEPARATIONS

Design three plates.Submit Entry Drop 1, 2, and 3 to get sorted into a house.

1. ENTRY DROP 1

   Bauhaus

For this Plate, you will deconstruct the visual identity of a band or singer for a concert poster using strict Bauhaus design principles. Strip away the excess and build your composition entirely through stark geometry, primary color palettes, and an unyielding grid. The Press will not reward decorative clutter; they are looking for absolute typographic and spatial dominance.

   OPEN ALL SEASON

2. ENTRY DROP 2

   Grunge Album Cover

Design an album cover for a garage band’s debut LP. Tear the clean hold. Dirt, xerox, scratches — it should look like it survived the photocopier.

   OPEN ALL SEASON

3. ENTRY DROP 3

   Risograph Gallery Flyer

Design a limited-run gallery opening flyer meant for two-color risograph. Two inks only. Misregistration is a feature. Print it in your head, then lock the plate.
